What is Veterinary Physiotherapy?
The primary goal of veterinary physiotherapy is to restore and optimise pain-free, functional movement in animals after injury, disease, dysfunction, surgery, or for overall performance enhancement. Veterinary physiotherapy, a science-based yet holistic practice, is used alongside other paraprofessionals to treat and manage musculoskeletal and neurological conditions in animals. Applied on a individual basis following veterinary referral, it aims to reduce pain, improve movement, and restore normal muscle control and function during rehabilitation. In addition to its role in recovery, veterinary physiotherapy is also valuable for general maintenance or enhancing the performance of animal athletes, helping to minimise the risk of injury while improving their performance.

ABOUT JARVIS VET PHYSIO
Jarvis Veterinary Physiotherapy is owned and operated by India Jarvis, a qualified and insured Veterinary Physiotherapist registered with the Register of Animal Musculoskeletal Practitioners (RAMP). India graduated from A.R.U Writtle University in 2024 with an Upper Second-Class Intergrated Masters Degree (IMSc) in Veterinary Physiotherapy.
The exceptional teaching team and state-of-the-art facilities, including a fully equipped commercial Canine Therapy Clinic, provided a strong foundation for my current career. During my time at university, I also conducted two research projects focused on the activation present in the back and core during dynamic mobilisation exercises (baited stretches) and their affect on hindlimb kinematics.
Since setting up my practice in Leicestershire, I treat horses, dogs and other animals, utilising a blend of soft tissue techniques, electrotherapy's, remedial exercise programs and management advice, aiming to reduce pain, facilitate healing and improve performance.
India works as part of a multidisciplinary team, collaborating with veterinarians, farriers, saddle fitters, chiropractors, and other therapists to provide comprehensive care for your animals. India regularly undertakes Continuing Professional Development (CPD) to stay up to date with the latest advancements in the field and is dedicated to continuously expanding her knowledge to provide the best possible care for your animals.

Qualifications
IMSc (Integrated Master's) Veterinary Physiotherapy
Level 3 and 4 Canine Hydrotherapy
India graduated from the Writtle University College in 2024 with a Upper Second Class Honours in Veterinary Physiotherapy. For as long as I can remember, it has been my life-long dream to work with animals. The bond we share with our pets is so special, and I’ve always wanted to be a part of helping them live healthier, more comfortable lives. To make this dream a reality, I worked tirelessly for four years to earn my qualification in Veterinary Physiotherapy. It wasn’t always easy, but every step of the way was worth it, knowing I could make a difference in the lives of animals and their owners.
Prior to starting university, I knew I wanted to work in the animal industry, so I spent a lot of time gaining practical experience with a variety of animals. Whether it was volunteering at animal shelters, working at veterinary clinics, or assisting in animal rehabilitation centres, each experience deepened my love for animals.
In addition, I’ve continued to enhance my skills by completing my Level 3 and 4 Canine Hydrotherapy Qualification throughout 2024 and 2025. This additional qualification has equipped me with advanced techniques in hydrotherapy, which is an incredibly beneficial treatment for dogs recovering from injuries or surgeries, as well as those with chronic conditions.
